Managing Director
Being one of the founding members, Mrs. Kandel is the managing director of this company. As head of the administrative department, her responsibilities range from company accounting, human resource management, materials management, to store keeping duties.
She plans all the sub-surface exploration works and deploys human resources as needed.

Started Quartz Group in 2015 and "Quartz Drilling and Lab Pvt. Ltd." in the same year. A post graduate in Engineering Geology with 14+ years of experience, he is widely respected as one of the top geologists in the country. Mr. Pathak has executed major geological projects in engineering geological mapping, mineral exploration and mine planning, field observation with construction material survey across the country.
He is the key person in the company and controls all technical, contractual, financial and commercial matters. His expertise includes tunneling practices and geological investigations supervision.
Er. Bishwa Bastakoti
Geotechnical Engineer

With his expertise in geotechnical engineering, Mr. Bastakoti oversees critical geotechnical investigations and provides technical solutions for complex ground conditions. He brings valuable insights to foundation designs and soil stability analyses across various projects.
Mr. Dipesh Phulara
Engineering Geologist
As an Engineering Geologist, Mr. Phulara specializes in the assessment of geological conditions for engineering purposes. His work includes site investigations, rock and soil characterization, and geological hazard assessments. He plays a vital role in hydropower and infrastructure projects throughout Nepal.
Er. Ramesh Joshi
Civil Engineer

He is an energetic member of our office. He conducts various field works and prepares project reports. In addition, he also manages the inventory and accounts, to some extent of the company. He is truly a dynamic personality of this office. His expertise includes soil investigations, Electric Resistivity Tests, Electric Resistivity Tomography (ERT). His excellent skillset in CAD, Excel, and Word Processing helps him to complete work on time.
Mr. Biond Budhathoki
Administration
Responsible for the smooth functioning of office operations, Mr. Budhathoki handles administrative duties including coordination between different departments, document management, and day-to-day operational logistics. His organizational skills help maintain efficiency across the company.
Ms. Shobha Khadka Khatri
Accountant
Ms. Khatri manages the financial records and accounting operations of the company. Her responsibilities include maintaining financial documentation, processing transactions, preparing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Her meticulous work ensures the financial health of the organization.
Mr. Aashish Giri
Lab In-charge
As the Lab In-charge, Mr. Giri oversees all laboratory operations at Quartz Group. He ensures the accuracy and reliability of soil and rock testing procedures, maintains quality control protocols, and supervises laboratory staff. His expertise contributes significantly to the company's reputation for delivering precise and trustworthy test results.

Our field operations team includes skilled professionals such as drillers, drivers, and support staff who are essential to our on-site work. An Tri-Chandra Campus alumnus; Mr. Gyanendra Raj Sapkota completed his M.S. in Geology from Central Department of Geology, Tribhuvan University in 2019. Gyanendra started his career with contract-based geological works in 2019, where he worked on several major hydropower projects for a period of 2 years. He moved to Quartz in 2021.
He is the recipient of Jagadishwar-Shashi Shrestha Award for Excellence in Geoscience 2020.

As a Senior Geologist at Quartz, Mr. Kapil Karki was a post-graduate in Engineering Geology with 5 years of experience in the water energy sector of Nepal. His national experience included projects with the Geological Survey of Nepal.
His hydropower work experience focused on integrated geological evaluation to identify areas of high and low potential to maximize company's portfolio.
He participated in "Latest Geophysical Techniques for Infrastructure Projects" organized by AF Academy in April 13-14, 2023 in Singapore.

Er. Aashish Pokhrel was a graduate of Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk Campus, Lalitpur, with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. He was responsible for Quartz Group's geotechnical and material laboratory, conducting different lab tests, and preparing reports. His expertise included soil investigations, Soil-Structure Interaction Study, and Earthquake-related soil studies. His skillset included CAD, Excel, Abaqus, FLAC, PLAXIS, etc.
