Started the 'Quartz' Group in 2015 and "Quartz Drilling and Lab Pvt. Ltd.” in the same year. A post graduate in Engineering Geology with 14 years of experience, he is widely respected as one of the top geologist in the country. Mr. Pathak has executed major projects of geology in engineering geological mapping, mineral exploration and mine planning, field observation with construction material survey across the country.
He is the key person in the company and controls all technical, contractual, financial and commercial matters. His expertise includes tunneling practices and geological investigations supervision.
As member of the Nepal Geological Society (NGS), he is actively involved in upgrading practice methods and preparing codes of practice for geological aspects of civil engineering construction.
He is a member Nepal Tunnelling Association (NTA) and several other Committee.
He served as Executive Committee Member of the Nepal Geological Society for a term (2015-2017) and has contributed significantly to its growth and activities.
He is a member of international Association of Engineering Geologists and Environment (IAEG).
He is also a part-time lecturer in Department of Geology, Tri-Chandra College.

An Tri-Chandra Campus alumunus; Mr. Gyanendra Raj Sapkota completed his M.S. in Geology from Central Department of Geology, Tribhuvan University in 2019. Gyanendra started his career with contract based geological works in 2019, where he worked on several major projects in hydropower for a period of 2 years. He moved to Quartz in 2021.
In the past 5 years, he has been actively involved in several major Geological exploration programs across Nepal. Gyanendra is presently responsible for personnel development and technical matters at the Company. He is active in various professional organizations, including NGS. He has served on the NGS member since 2016.
He has completed a course on "Paleoclimatology, EARTHSC 6750-10 (#32531) from Ohio State University, USA in collaboration with Kathmandu Center for Research and Education Chinese Academy of Sciences-Tribhuvan University (KCRE, TU) and Central Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Trihuvan University in 2019
He has also completed a two-day training and conference on "Design and Construction of Underground Structure for Infrastructure Development" in Kathmandu on 22-23 December, 2022, organized by Nepal Tunnelling Association (NTA), 2022
In addition, he has also actively participated in Geological Expert Training for Sustainable Development of Nepal by Central Development of Geology, TU in collaboration with Nepal Geological Society in 2019.
He is the receipent of Jagadishwar-Shashi Shrestha Award for Excellence in Geoscience 2020.
He has received Masters Research Support from University Grant Commission (UGC) in 2019.

His expertise includes geophysical surveys, geotechnical investigations, sedimentary structure and depositional environment study. He has been involved in developing geological solutions to problems of foundations under artesian conditions, collapsible dune sands, soft clays, expansive soils, etc.
