Mr. Dilandra Pathak completed the visit to Copenhagen, Denmark. He learnt the following lessions from World Tunnel Congress, 2022.

1. In underground projects Geological Baseline Report (GBR) shall be included as a major part of the contract.
2. Prior to construction of every underground project, 10-12% of project cost shall be invested for realistic assessment of the project to reduce the Underground Uncertainty.
3. The owner owns the ground and is responsible for weak conditions and the contractor shall also get benefit from good ground. So risk sharing must be equal to both parties.
4. The engineer shall be responsible for the design fault. But the client must conduct required, investigation, design modeling works as per the requirements of Project.
5. Horizontal drilling can replace the excavation of test tunnels. A Norwegian company completes 2100m of horizontal drilling from one point.
6. Grouting technology is much advanced now.
7. The Danish society is controlled by rule of Law and financial inequalities are almost negligible.
